what were your RESPONSIBILITIES as an intern?
Some of my responsibilities as an intern included analyzing product and SKU data using company software, identifying trends, validating item activity, and helping maintain the companywide private label product catalog. I also supported cross-functional innovation initiatives and gained experience with packaging and label design, sustainability and recycling compliance, and the vendor Request for Proposal (RFP) process. In addition, I participated in professional development opportunities such as networking events, warehouse tours, and workshops.
What was your favorite/most memorable part of your internship
The most memorable part of my internship was getting to meet so many professionals and hearing about their career journey. One specific example was getting to meet the CEO and CIO of Botticelli and participating in a meeting about adding new products and learning about private label production processes. In addition to this, it was extremely exciting to see new branch launches come to life and provide suggestions for new products based on trends and competitor success.
Walk us through a day in the life of your internship?
A day in my life as an intern involved balancing multiple individual projects with collaborative projects and professional development opportunities! I spent time analyzing product and SKU data, validating item activity, and supporting the maintenance of the company’s private label product catalog, while also working with my group on our cross-functional innovation project. I would spend a good amount of my day finding ways to optimize processes as well as consolidate data to be more manageable and digestible. Throughout the week, I attended innovation meetings to discuss project progress, share ideas, and collaborate with different teams, as well as developmental workshops that helped me strengthen my professional skills and learn more about the company and the industry.
