Blitz case competition

The Blitz Case Competition is MCG's most anticipated event of the year. Held annually in the spring, Blitz challenges participating teams to develop and present solutions to complex consulting problems in just one hour! In Spring 2015, the competition gained heat as MCG teamed up with PwC to judge the final rounds, giving finalists the opportunity to present in New York City at the PwC headquarters.

interview Academy

MCG aims to assist students recruiting for a consulting position through its Interview Academy. Keeping in tradition, Interview Academy was formatted as  a three day workshop, hosted by the MCG E-Board, that has the goals of teaching students how to best succeed in their upcoming interviews.

MCG organized the Interview Academy as follows:

  • Video Interview Prep - This involved informing the students on how to properly prepare for an online video interview. The applications of this session became increasingly evident as the recruiting cycle shifted to a virtual setting, resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. Going forward, MCG wants to ensure its members are comfortable with whatever format their interview may be completed in.

  • Behavioral Interview Prep - Since it is mostly certain a student will experience a behavioral interview during their recruiting cycle, it is imperative that they understand how to conduct themselves in the best manner possible. This session focused on how one can distinguish themselves among other candidates, as well as addressing the most common downfalls that can be avoided with proper preparation.

  • Case Interview Prep - The final day of the Interview Academy prepared students for case interviews, which are continuing to become very prevalent by employers. With adequate preparation, students can ensure they stand above other applicants with their responses. MCG has many different tips and techniques that can be used to achieve success with multiple different forms of case interviews at a variety of firms.

consulting workshops

In the Fall 2016 semester, MCG launched three new workshop series designed to engage students of all experience levels.  The series focused on the most critical component of the consulting recruitment process: the case study or interview.

MCG presents the following workshop series:

  • Early Engagement Series - This series targets freshman students providing them with quick insights into the world of consulting and its most critical recruiting component: the case study or case interview.

  • Technical Case Series - This series dives into the components of a consulting case study and technical skills needed to perfect the art of constructing and presenting a recommendation.

  • Case Interview Series - Through engaging and interactive sessions, this series prepares students to succeed in the most critical component of consulting recruitment: the case interview.
