what were your RESPONSIBILITIES as an intern?

As a Summer Associate at AlphaSights, I worked directly with investment firm clients to understand their needs and connect them with relevant industry experts. I researched niche industries, managed outreach to thousands of potential market experts, and communicated directly with C-suite executives and startup founders. I also managed up to 15 client projects at once, working under tight deadlines to drive each project from the initial request through a successful expert consultation.

What was your favorite/most memorable part of your internship

My favorite part of my internship was the relationships I built with my managers and fellow interns. I was lucky to be part of such a hardworking and supportive team, and they made each day fun and engaging. We also played games during our daily board meetings, which was a great way to break up the workday and bond as a team.

Walk us through a day in the life of your internship?

A typical day started at 8 a.m. by organizing our priorities and discussing them as a team during morning board. From there, we’d work on our individual projects, bouncing between researching industries, finding relevant experts, vetting them over the phone, and sending strong matches to clients. New projects came in throughout the day, so we were constantly rearranging our priorities and balancing new requests with existing projects, which kept things interesting. We’d meet again for board in the afternoon and before the end of the day, while also asking our managers and teammates questions as different projects and situations came up. I’d usually head out around 6:30 once I wrapped up my work for the day, but I stayed available in case any urgent client requests came in afterward.
