what were your RESPONSIBILITIES as an intern?
As an Analytics & Insights Intern, I supported the Merchandising Analytics team through data analysis, reporting, and business research. My responsibilities included conducting category reviews, analyzing customer and competitive insights, developing Power BI dashboards, and creating presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders. I also worked on process improvement initiatives and helped translate complex data into clear, actionable insights that could support business decisions.
What was your favorite/most memorable part of your internship
My favorite part of the internship was having the opportunity to work on projects that combined analytics with real business decision-making. I especially enjoyed developing a Power BI reporting solution because I was able to take ownership of the project from designing the model and DAX measures to creating the visuals and preparing the final handoff. It was rewarding to see how the technical skills I had developed in school could be applied to solve real business problems and create something that could be useful beyond my internship.
Walk us through a day in the life of your internship?
A typical day involved a mix of independent analytical work, meetings, research, and collaboration with members of the merchandising and analytics teams. I might spend part of the day analyzing data in Excel or Power BI, researching customer or competitive trends, and then turn those findings into a presentation or report for stakeholders. The variety of projects meant that no two days were exactly the same, and I was constantly learning how to approach new business questions and communicate data in a meaningful way.
