what were your RESPONSIBILITIES as an intern?

I was in charge of analyzing my client's current financial state and helping facilitate walkthrough calls to develop recommendations. Additionally, I had to do market research to make sure they were compliant with industry standard expectations. I also had the opportunity to work and create the final slide deck for the engagement.

What was your favorite/most memorable part of your internship

My favorite memory was Liftoff with Protiviti, where they fly out all interns to Austin, TX for a week of training. We learned everything about the firm and what they expected of us. Everyday consisted of meeting other interns from across the country, panels with directors, and a project simulation which happened to almost mirror my internship's engagement. Overall, it was an eye opening experience and made me excited for the rest of the summer!

Walk us through a day in the life of your internship?

I typically arrived at the office by 8:00 AM each morning, except Fridays when I worked remotely. I’d start my day by getting organized and preparing notes for upcoming meetings. Each morning included a check-in call with my manager to review progress on my current project or receive new assignments. Before lunch, I often met with the client or scheduled coffee chats, and I frequently joined the other interns for lunch or arranged one-on-one networking lunches. Afternoons were focused on project work and meetings, and I usually wrapped up around 5:00–5:30 PM before either heading to a social event or going home.
